HASHTAG 98 HOTEL CODE OF CONDUCT
In compliance with Article 17 of Law 679/2001 and Law 1329 of July 17, 2009, Hotel Hashtag 98 advises guests, clients, and suppliers that the sexual exploitation and abuse of minors in Colombia are penalized both criminally and administratively, in accordance with current laws, and our staff are obligated to enforce the minimum control measures stipulated in the Code of Conduct.
CODE OF CONDUCT (LAW 1336 OF 2009) In order to counteract the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents (CSEC) at Hotel Hashtag 98, we adopt this Code of Conduct which, after having been reviewed by all establishment personnel, implements the obligations outlined in Articles 16 and 17 of Law 679 of 2001, as well as preventing the behaviors represented in Article 19 of the same Law, and also incorporates the following minimum control measures:
Refrain from including, expressly or surreptitiously, CSEC plans in tourist promotion programs and tourist plans.
Refrain from providing tourists, directly or through intermediaries, with information about places where CSEC is coordinated or practiced.
Refrain from driving tourists, directly or through third parties, to establishments or places where CSEC is practiced, as well as taking them to the locations where tourists are housed, even if they are boats located at sea, for the purpose of CSEC.
Refrain from providing vehicles on tourist routes for the purpose of sexual exploitation or abuse with children and adolescents involved in CSEC.
Prevent the entry of children and adolescents into hotels or accommodation places, bars, similar businesses, and other establishments that provide tourist services for the purpose of exploitation or sexual abuse.
Take pending measures to prevent personnel associated with the company in any capacity from offering tourist services that enable sexual activity with children and adolescents.
Report to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism and other competent authorities any facts of which it may have become aware through any means, as well as the existence of places related to CSEC, and ensure that there are channels within the company for the corresponding report to the competent authorities.
Design and disseminate within the company and with its suppliers of goods and services, a policy in which the provider establishes measures to prevent and counteract all forms of CSEC in travel and tourism.
Train all personnel associated with the establishment on the prevention of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (CSEC).
Inform users about the legal consequences in Colombia of the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.
Display this Code of Conduct and any other commitments and measures the provider wishes to assume in order to protect children and adolescents in a visible place for establishment or commercial premises employees.
